Statement
I am interested in the encounter between pictorial language’s chromatic, material and gestural nature with other mediums. I have been developing work related to this because I think that the ingredients correspondent to diverse visual languages such as painting, collage, photography and installation can be broken down, cut-up and reassembled as a way of displaying the nature of each language while questioning their boundaries.
I use familiar imagery and found materials from the house where I grew up (cut-outs from books, found photographs, magazines, old stationary, postcard collections, comic books, and so on), added-on to my own personal collections of oddities, painted color schemes, sketches, annotations, novel quotes, etc. because I think these materials are just as mysterious, ambivalent, subjective and available for deconstruction as visual language itself.
